Explore and present together.
Choose a model
Select AirPod or Rubin from the model picker before entering the headset view. Blackwell is marked Outstanding and is not yet available. In a shared presentation, the presenter selects the model for the whole room; guests follow that selection automatically.
Start
Open this HTTPS address directly in Meta Quest Browser. No login, PC connection or app installation is required. Let the model load, then choose Place in my room or Enter VR walkthrough. Allow the requested spatial permissions.
One pod in the same physical room
Choose Place in my room on every headset when people should see the pod at the same real location. The guest must show Physical alignment confirmed before relying on shared placement; the presenter shows the number of aligned guests.
- On each Quest Browser, enter
chrome://flagsin the address bar. Search for WebXR experiments, enable it and restart the browser. - Open the same address on both headsets: https://xr.midascompute.com/. On the presenter’s browser page, choose Host presentation before entering the immersive view.
- The presenter chooses Place in my room, allows the requested permissions and places the model. On the guest’s browser page, enter the presenter’s room code and choose Join to open room view, or add a prepared guest headset through Your ready headsets. Both headsets must use room view.
- Give the headsets a moment to locate their common space. Wait for Physical alignment confirmed on the guest and an aligned-guest count on the presenter. The guest then uses the presenter’s position, orientation and scale.
If either headset is in VR walkthrough, choose Switch to shared room view. If alignment is not confirmed, check the status details, experiment setting and browser address on both headsets. Matching model size alone does not establish a shared physical location.
This uses Quest Browser’s experimental Shared Spaces feature. Availability depends on the browser and headset. See the feature’s source and setup instructions and reference example.
Prepare headsets so attendees need no room code
- On the presenter browser, open Your ready headsets and choose Create headset group. Keep its setup code.
- As the operator, open Midas on each guest headset once. Enable WebXR experiments first. Expand Prepare this guest headset, enter the setup code, give the headset a name and choose Make this headset ready.
- Confirm immersive entry if requested. Preparation opens room view. Leave Midas open and confirm any resume prompt before handing the headset to an attendee. Pairing is remembered in that browser.
- On the presenter’s browser page, choose Host presentation first, then Place in my room and place the pod. Use the presenter’s wrist menu to add ready headsets, or return to the browser page and choose Add all ready headsets. They join your room automatically; wait for Physical alignment confirmed on each guest and check the presenter’s aligned-guest count.
Attendees need no room code after the operator prepares their headsets. The list contains headsets paired to your setup code. This website cannot open a closed browser, wake a powered-off headset or bypass a new immersive permission prompt. After a new session, the operator may need to choose Make this headset ready again.
Independent virtual walkthrough
Choose Enter VR walkthrough when each person should explore a virtual copy using the sticks. This mode does not establish one shared physical location.
- On the presenter headset, choose Host presentation and enter VR walkthrough.
- On a guest headset, enter the six-character room code and choose Join presenter (or Join). Choose Enter VR walkthrough if needed.
- The guest arrives at the presenter’s virtual position and facing direction once the presenter is ready. Everyone can then look and move independently. Go to presenter returns a guest to the presenter’s latest viewpoint.
Model changes remain synchronized in either mode. The presenter controls position, scale, cutaways, walls and roof. Voice chat and avatars are not included; people in the same room can speak normally. A room expires after four hours. To finish, exit the immersive view and choose End presentation.
Left-wrist menu
Raise the left controller and look toward your wrist. The menu follows the left controller's grip position and faces you for reading. It hides when you look away or grab the model. Press A or X to wake it at your wrist for five seconds.
Aim the right controller at a control. A white crosshair marks the exact point and the button turns gold. Pull the right index trigger to select. The left controller does not select its own wrist menu. During a presentation, guest model controls are dimmed; the presenter controls those settings.
Grab and scale with both pointers
- Check that the wrist menu says Grab / Scale: ON.
- Point either controller at the pod and hold its index trigger. Move the controller to move the pod. A side grip also works.
- While holding, hold the other controller's trigger or side grip. Move your hands apart to enlarge the pod or together to shrink it. Move both hands together to reposition it.
- Release one controller to continue holding with the other. Release both to leave the model where it is. A new spatial anchor is created in room view when supported.
Picking a wrist-menu button uses the trigger for menu selection. Point away from the menu and at the pod before holding a trigger to grab. Width is limited to 0.3–160 metres; Table Model restores 1.2 metres and Life Size restores 1:1.
Smooth movement
In VR, the left joystick walks forward, backward and sideways relative to your view. The right joystick turns continuously. Both ease into and out of movement. The Movement button can switch to Teleport if preferred.
In room view, the left joystick slides the model and the right joystick rotates it continuously. Your real room stays aligned. Move physically only within your clear activity space.
Stand on the actual model floor
In VR, the viewpoint follows walkable hall floors, ramps and stair treads instead of staying on the model's lowest base. Your normal headset eye height is preserved above that surface. Roofs and upper decks are not selected simply because they are overhead. Leaving the pod brings your virtual feet smoothly back to ground level.
Floor following is for the virtual walkthrough. Room view retains your physical room's floor and head position.
Inspect the systems
View cycles between complete pod, cutaway, compute, water/cooling and power. Hide Roof and Hide Walls expose the equipment. Start Position returns outside the current model. Reset Model restores the small model.
Tracking and use
If controller tracking is temporarily lost, a held model freezes and resumes without jumping. Head-tracking loss or a system pause cancels the grab; release and press again to resume. Raise the left controller if the wrist menu disappears.
This is an indoor presentation tool. Virtual movement does not move your body. Clear your activity space. Real-world depth occlusion and outdoor survey alignment are not implemented. The model is a simplified presentation copy; original engineering files remain unchanged.
